Prayers for the Redeemed

Focus Text: Ephesians 1:15-23; 3:14-21
Central Truth: God's power for the Christian is unlimited.
Objective: By the end of this lesson my students should be able to identify two prayers for God's unlimited power the Christian should pray.

Lesson Highlight: Galatians 6:14
"But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world" (Galatians 6:14).
Verse two of the great hymn, "When I Survey", by Isaac Watts refers to this scripture, saying...
Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast,
Save in the death of Christ my God!
All the vain things that charm me most,
I sacrifice them to His blood.

Lesson Highlight: Galatians 6:7
In the "Biblical Perspectives" section of our lesson Dr. Marsh Jones writes:
Our behavior in this life will be the basis of our reward in the next, just as the type of seed that the farmer plants determines the kind of crop that he grows.
